While the formula contains ingredients like lactic acid and citric acid, they're included at carefully selected concentrations that support the skin rather than exfoliate it. For example, at the level used in our formula, lactic acid primarily acts as a humectant, helping attract and retain moisture, while citric acid is used to help balance the formula's pH so it's closer to your skin's natural pH.

The result is a hydrating, skin-supportive formula that creates the ideal environment for the serums and treatments that follow. 

No—and that's intentional. The Prep Pads were created to rethink the first step of a routine: not to strip or exfoliate, but to condition and prepare. The soft silicone beads provide gentle stimulation through touch, gliding across the skin without friction or cell removal.

A mild tingle can be completely normal. The Prep Pad is not designed to chemically exfoliate. Instead, it’s formulated to condition, hydrate, and prepare your skin for the products that follow. The slight sensation some people experience is simply your skin detecting active ingredients interacting with its surface. It is not a sign that your skin is being peeled or exfoliated. In this formula, apple fruit extract is included to help boost hydration, lactic acid is present at a very low, non-exfoliating level to support moisture, and citric acid is used to help maintain a skin-friendly pH. Together, these ingredients help create a balanced, comfortable formula—not a chemical peel. Think of it this way: a tingle is a sensation, not a function. The function of the Prep Pad is to hydrate, condition, and prep your skin—not chemically exfoliate it.

First. Use them on cleansed skin, before your serums. The barrier-first formula floods skin with hydration while the beads gently stimulate through touch, creating a healthier, better-prepped canvas for everything that follows—serums, moisturizer, sunscreen, and makeup.

Use the textured (beaded) side first, then the smooth side. The beaded side awakens the skin with gentle stimulation and distributes product evenly; the ultra-smooth side then saturates skin with the hydrating, barrier-first complex. That said, if you feel like you need more glide, you can start with the smooth side first to get more of the formula onto your skin, then follow with the textured side.
